Evesham is a bustling market town, in the vibrant heart of the country and has been welcoming visitors since the Romans. Set in a natural loop of the River Avon, with a history to inspire and excite, it has been a magnet to others due to its beautiful location.
There are many ways to while away your time in Evesham: from tranquil river trips to live music and comedy; from enjoying delicious local delicacies to discovering history; from exploring the surrounding area by car, bike or foot, to taking part in one of our eclectic festivals; there really is something for everyone.
Shoppers are well catered for with a wide range of independent traders; active types will find plenty of sports and activities to keep them busy; and culture vultures will revel in the art-deco cinema, arts centre and historic buildings.
Britain in Bloom
Evesham has been entering Britain in Bloom since 1990. Our aim for 2017 is to get a Gold award.
We need help from everyone who lives or works in Evesham. We have a criteria to follow which involves having every aspect of Evesham and its residents covered. Old, young, retired, working, volunteers, some who have been press ganged! The Businesses in town and the private gardens all will play their part.
We are being judged on the 6th July 2017, have two and a quarter hours to show two judges around our town and we must cover all aspects of the criteria set out by the Royal Horticultural Society.
The day the judges come we have to organise a route and transport and visit one school, one retirement home, new build, old build renovated, public parks, special gardens (if any), how we manage our waste disposal, allotments. How much help do we get from our councils? How much work is covered by volunteers? All in all they want to know what makes Evesham tick.
